The Veteran Humanitarian Project, aka VHHP, will assist those who have been wounded while honorably serving this nation. A team member will assist the veteran in completing the appropriate documents to receive their VA disability benefits and by helping make the required appointment(s). VHHP will also assist the veteran currently receiving benefits complete the appropriate documents and help organize any medical files needed to update their VA records and make appointments to apply for an increase in their VA benefits. 

Also for those veterans who sustained severe injuries in the line of duty, applications will be completed and presented to a board of decision makers. If approved, an ADA house will be built: debt free, with that specific veteran’s needs in mind for them and their immediate family members. This would be VHHP’s and any other Project’s that may join in the build way of saluting the veteran in a most tangible way while saying thank you for paying the price to serve this great nation.

There once was a time when children played outdoors and the neighborhood grandparents would sit in the porch to watch over them. But times have changed:  issues have become much more complex. 

It’s common for a grandparent or grandparents to take in the parental role for their grandchildren, whether or not they formally adopt them. While adoption provides legal rights and responsibilities, grandparents often step into the parental role with informal arrangements, particularly when facing challenges with their adult child’s parenting abilities. 

Many grandparents have already retired so the financial responsibility becomes even greater. Adding to that facet is the feeding, clothing, teaching, and providing for these children. This is a great stress even when the grandparent gracefully steps into this role.

Hi! My name is Sam Kukich. I started this group in September 2018 when I found my Mother In Law, Rose or "Baba" as we call her battered and bruised in her room at a Nursing Home in Newport News, Virginia. This was the breaking point for me as she had been in 4 homes in the Hampton Roads area, all of which provided less than basic care. I did not realize this at first, and thought our situation was unique. I was so distraught over what I saw at these nursing homes that after I found a safe place for Baba, I decided something needed to be done. That is what this group is for -- Getting Something Done. So join us in this journey and help us give a voice to those elderly who feel they have been forgotten. Thank you for being a part of the solution! 🇺🇸
